The JUST PEPP Toolbox will be designed for municipalities, researchers and policy makers across Europe, providing them with the knowledge and resources necessary to implement energy-positive solutions in future climate-neutral cities. The primary objectives of the toolbox is to summarise the knowledge gathered during the JUST-PEPP project to plan and implement PEDs for vulnerable an disadvantaged groups.
This toolbox will include strategic guidelines for Positive Energy District (PED) development, technical handbooks detailing the planning and implementation processes, interactive dashboard for visualising energy demand and supply scenarios, and frameworks for socio-economic benefit analysis. Additionally, it will highlight best practices and lessons learned from the project’s research and real-world implementations.
The content of the JUST PEPP Toolbox will be developed through a thorough and collaborative research process. Initially, the project aims to analyse the socio-economic and energy-related vulnerabilities in disadvantaged neighborhoods, producing measures and reports that inform the strategic guidelines and frameworks in the toolbox. This analysis will be followed by mapping energy demand and supply, which will lead to the creation of strategic guidelines and the interactive dashboard that shall offer a visual representation of energy solutions in the pilot neighborhoods.
Following that, the project will focus on co-creating implementation roadmaps for PEDs, resulting in technical handbooks. These resources will offer detailed instructions and collaborative frameworks necessary for effective PED implementation. Finally, the project will experiment with innovative PED solutions in various neighborhoods, documenting the implementation experiences and developing handbooks on strategic business models.
By integrating these comprehensive and collaboratively developed resources, the JUST PEPP Toolbox will be a database of resources aiming to enable practitioners to gain knowledge on the benefits, socio-economic viability and replicability of strategic actions to ultimately design solutions for PEDs in disadvantaged neighbourhoods..
