DESCRIPTION:The Positive Energy District session will aim to develop concrete contributions to emerging energy frameworks through structured discussions across policy\, economic\, social and technological dimensions.  The session is organised under the Driving Urban Transitions Conference 2026 that aims to highlight DUT’s flagship activities and strategic direction towards 2033\, as well as concrete results\, lessons learned and scalable solutions from DUT-funded projects on urban mobility\, energy and circularity. \nThe JUST PEPP project will be represented by Dr. Luis Ramirez Camargo\, Assistant Professor\, Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development at Utrecht University. He will present the interactive dashboard designed to support stakeholders in exploring potential PED development scenarios. The tool aims to enable users to visualise and compare different energy demand scenarios and technology adoption pathways within frontrunner neighbourhoods. SUMMARY:Workshop: Understanding energy poverty: Building local capacity for inclusive solutions | Climate Alliance International Conference
DESCRIPTION:Energy poverty affects some of the most vulnerable groups in our communities. Local governments play a crucial role in identifying those at risk and developing tailored local solutions. This interactive workshop aims to support municipalities in strengthening their capacity to address energy poverty by equipping them with the tools to recognise vulnerable groups\, understand their needs\, and design practical\, targeted interventions. Through collaborative exercises\, scenario building\, and best-practice sharing\, participants will explore a range of approaches — from building renovations to inclusive policy development. The workshop also provides an opportunity for municipalities to reflect on their current efforts and explore new ways to take meaningful action at the local level. \nThe event is organised under the umbrella of the Climate Alliance International Conference\, by the Energy Poverty Advisory Hub and the CEESEN-BENDER\, JUST PEPP and ASSERT projects. \nAll participants need to register by 30 June 2025.

This event\, organised under the European Sustainable Energy Week umbrella\, aims to bring solutions for sustainable and equitable rural development\, emphasising the importance of integrating social\, economic\, and environmental considerations and drawing upon the developments of the four initiatives. \nIn view of the new Commission and the new challenges posed by the policy priorities related to the Clean Industrial Deal\, it is of upmost importance to prepare the ground for innovative solutions that leave no one behind. Bringing together experts with different backgrounds\, this session will prepare the ground to ensure that the road ahead involves the often-forgotten rural areas and their communities\, putting them at the centre of their own territories’ development. \nThe event will take place in Brussels and online.
